Two men who were named as persons of interest by the Kingston Western police recently will remain in police custody after a presiding Corporate Area resident magistrate granted the lawmen more time to make their case on Tuesday.
They are Michael Christopher Coke and Lanchester Coke, who have yet to have charges laid against them.
Habeas Corpus applications filed for their release were turned down by the court.
In making a case for his clients, attorney-at-law Anthony Pearson told the court that both men, after having heard their names in the media, turned themselves in to the commanding officer of the Kingston Western police on April 8.

Subsequently, it is believed that the police conducted a question- and-answer session with both men on April 10. It is further alleged that on April 16, the men were advised that they were wanted by the police's Flying Squad and were subject to another interview.
The court heard that up to April 22, no charges were laid against either man.
Upon hearing the assertions made, Resident Magistrate Georgianna Fraser briefly stood down the matter, allowing prosecutors time to indicate if charges had been laid or if an identification parade was held.

A senior officer attached to the Western Kingston Police Division sought to answer the sitting magistrate's questions, stating that there were in fact no charges laid, requesting three more days to make a case against the men.
"We have been communicating with citizens to further the investigation. The area is a bit difficult in policing. We're asking for three additional days to unearth evidence," the officer said, referring to the Spanish Town Road and Chesnut Lane locales.
Granting officers their request, RM Fraser ordered that the men be released by April 25 if no charges are laid against them.
