WESTERN BUREAU:
A St James woman, accused of stabbing a man to death with a fish bone in 2012, will have her case heard in the St James Circuit Court on May 14, when the matter will be mentioned.
Thirty-three-year-old Cassandra Noble, a vendor from Mount Salem, Montego Bay, is charged with the murder of Rashawn Rose, of Barrett Town, also in St James.
The accused woman had her bail extended when she appeared before the presiding High Court Justice, Courtney Daye, in the Circuit Court yesterday, as her case had been newly brought before the prosecution and additional time was requested to peruse the file.
It is alleged that on the night of December 22, 2012, Noble was at her stall, located at the Old Shoe Market on St James Street, when she sold a boiled egg to Rose. During the transaction, a dispute arose between the two and Noble reportedly stabbed Rose with a fish bone.
Rose was later pronounced dead at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
