Two Jamaican women accused of smuggling cocaine into The Bahamas from Panama wearing girdles with the drugs stitched inside pleaded guilty when they appeared before a magistrate on Friday, THE STAR understands.
According to http://ift.tt/1p7kWnJ, 51-year-old Ionie Heron and 30-year-old Kerone Dawkins of Westmoreland, Jamaica, admitted to trafficking cocaine in their girdles into the country on Monday, April 7.
THE STAR gathered that both women left the court in tears after Magistrate Andrew Forbes sentenced them to four years, the mandatory minimum sentence.

Though arrested separately, both women gave investigators similar accounts of how they became involved in the smuggling venture.
Both women alleged that men offered them all expense paid trip to Panama.
While in Panama, they were given the girdles and told that they would travel to The Bahamas to deliver the cocaine before returning to Jamaica.
The court also ordered that cash confiscated from the women at the time of their arrest be seized by the State as proceeds of crime.
