A Jamaican music executive has found himself in hot water after he was arrested by federal marshals at JFK Airport late Sunday night.
According to an article posted on the website, www.nypost.com, Kevin Reynolds, who was wanted for a 2002 murder in Maryland, was apprehended after he crafted a new identity and eluded law enforcement for more than a decade.
'Reynolds was wanted for the alleged shooting death of a man in front of his screaming 11-year-old daughter in Silver Spring, but managed to vanish into the shadows for the past 12 years', read the article on the New York Post.
It is further being alleged by the post that Reynolds changed his identity, climbing the ranks at popular reggae and dancehall music label 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution, that lists offices on Madison Avenue and in Jamaica.
It is understood that despite him being wanted, Reynolds obtained new paperwork and passports, and settled in Brooklyn, while helping to run the music company, the post continued.
The article mentioned that Reynolds managed to fly from New York to Jamaica and back without detection until he was finally apprehended this past weekend, while waiting to board a flight to Kingston.
Reynolds, along with another man, allegedly approached the victim and his 11-year-old daughter in a parking lot outside their Maryland apartment complex in November 2002.
It is further alleged that following the shooting, Reynolds dragged the deceased away while his accomplice covered the daughter's mouth.
The post concluded that the child's father staggered and eventually collapsed, but that she recognised Reynolds before he escaped.
