West Kingston police charge eight


The West Kingston police have charged eight persons for various breaches under the Criminal Justice (Suppression of Criminal Organisations) Act, including the gang leader of the reputed 'Scare Dem' gang that operates in the West Kingston Division.


They have been identified as:


1. Omar Spalding, 31-year-old of Bread Lane in Kingston 13. He is also the leader of the Scare Dem gang.


2. Leon Williams, otherwise called 'Coolie', 22-year-old of Water Street, Kingston 14.


3. Anthony Wright, otherwise called 'Bulbie', 54-year-old taxi operator of a Christopher Road, Kingston 13, address.


4. Derval Findley, otherwise called 'Short Man', 22-year-old of Buff Bay in Portland.


5. Orlando Harris, otherwise called 'Biggie', 22-year-old of Water Street, Kingston 14.


6. San Sebastian Allen, otherwise called 'Baskie', 30-year-old shopkeeper of Nuttall Street, Kingston 14;


7. Two teenage boys, one 17 and the other 16 years old, were also arrested and charged under the legislation.


The West Kingston police are also preparing documents to charge an additional five persons for similar breaches under the Criminal Justice (Suppression of Criminal Organisations) Act.


Senior Superintendent of police, Steve McGregor, who is in charge of the West Kingston Police Division, said gangs will not be allowed to continue their operations in the division, as he and his team will be enforcing the full length of the Anti-Gang legislation to disrupt and dismantle all criminal organisations within West Kingston.
