Returning resident robbed by armed gunmen


The police are seeking the public's assistance in locating items belonging to 63-year-old returning resident Dorraine Dixon and her husband, who were robbed by armed men on their way home from the Norman Manley International Airport on Monday.


Reports from the Matilda's Corner police are that about 8 p.m., Dixon and her husband were attacked by four men, one armed with a firearm, who robbed them of their belongings, which included Dixon's Jamaican and American passport, her social security card and Florida driver's license.

Anyone with information that can assist the police in the recovery of these items is being asked to contact the Matilda's Corner police at 978-6003 or 927-1300, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.


The police are making an appeal to the public, especially when leaving the airports, to be aware of their surroundings and be on the lookout for persons who may want to rob or harm them.
