The police in Barbados have taken into custody a Jamaican woman who is being alleged to have burnt up her lesbian lover with hot oil.

According to the police, who did not go into details, the woman came into custody following a wanted bulletin that was sent out to the media.

"We do have her in custody. She has been residing in Barbados since last year. Her name was mentioned when we issued a wanted bulletin for her to come in. She presented herself and she is being interviewed on an incident," a public relations officer for the Barbadian police said.

He also continued that because of the country's laws he was unable to divulge what she was wanted for and what charges, if any, would be laid against her.

It remains unclear what led to the woman burning up her alleged lover. however, following the attack, several photos of the victim surfaced on Facebook with burnt bruises all over the face, arm and upper body.

The attacker, following the incident, is said to have taken to another social media site, Instagram, to apologise for her actions.
