The St Mary police said they are searching for Dwight Coleman in relation to the shocking death of his five-year-old daughter, Crystal.

Up to press time last evening, he had not turned himself in.

According to the police's Corporate Communications Unit, a report was received from a relative of Crystal Coleman on Wednesday that about 1:30 p.m., the child's body was discovered with multiple injuries.

It was later removed to the morgue for post-mortem.

"At present we do not know what happened. We have to wait on the post-mortem. We have to treat it as homicide until we get back the post-mortem," said a source close to the investigation.

Meanwhile, head of the police in the parish, Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, said the child's body had been found motionless yesterday in the home she shared with her father in the district of Frontier.

According to the senior policewoman, the police have reason to believe Coleman, who has not been seen since the incident, can help with the investigations.

She is urging residents not to harm Coleman, if they find him.
