The St Catherine police have now identified a motorist who was shot and killed and his vehicle stolen on Sunday.

He is Germain Melvin, 35-year-old labourer of Willodene, St Catherine.

Reports are that about 7:30 p.m., Melvin was inside a bar in Linstead, St Catherine, playing on a gambling machine.

The men reportedly entered and robbed all patrons, and they approached him and demanded the keys to his vehicle.

He refused their demands, and a physical confrontation developed.

The man was shot during the tussle, and the hoodlums made off with his vehicle.

The St Catherine Major Investigation Task Force is conducting a probe into the matter.
