A student, his brother and another man were taken into custody following the injury of a female on a public passenger bus at the corner of East and North streets, Kingston, on Tuesday evening.

The incident reduced traffic to a crawl as onlookers thronged into the road to get a front-row view of what was unfolding.

It is understood that shortly before 6 p.m., the conductor and the student, from a well known St Andrew high school, were involved in an argument, during which the schoolboy was hit in the face.

He reportedly contacted his brother and another man who boarded the bus shortly after.

During an altercation between the conductor and the student's brother, a female passenger was cut on the arm.

A licensed firearm holder who witnessed the happening accosted the student, his brother and the other man.

The police were also quick on the scene and took them into custody. By this time, the conductor had fled the scene.

An eyewitness told THE WEEKEND STAR, "Mi know say something like this did ago happen enuh... mi did expect this cause from mi see the little youth go pan him phone after the lick inna face..."

When THE WEEKEND STAR contacted the Kingston Central police, our news team was told that the three suspects were being questioned about their alleged involvement.
