Clarendon records second double murder for 2015

The Clarendon police have now recorded its second double murder for 2015, following yesterday's gun slaying of 23-year-old Tario Nelson and Rohan Granderson, 40, in the Juno Crescent area of May Pen.

This has pushed the homicide rate in the restive police division to 11 for January - an almost 100 per cent jump when compared to the corresponding period of 2014, where just six persons were murdered in that month.

Police said both men were walking to work, about 8:40 a.m., when gunmen pounced and shot them several times. Granderson was killed on the spot, while Nelson died during treatment at the May Pen Hospital.

Just two weeks ago, a gunman killed two teens, Romario 'Marco' Whyte and D'Andre Broomfield in Effortville, May Pen. Investigators said they have neither establish a motive nor made any arrest in any of the multiple homicides.
