Twenty-seven-year-old Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) serviceman Horaine White died yesterday morning when his Blue Honda Civic motor car crashed along the Bustamante Highway in Four Paths, Clarendon, killing the soldier on the spot.

According to police report, White who was on his way to work at Up Park Camp, attempted to overtake a vehicle when he lost control, swerve on to the other side of the road, before being hit by an Izuzu pickup truck and ended up in a ditch. He died on the spot.

Investigators said the driver of the pickup truck, who also sustained injuries, was rushed to the May Pen Hospital for treatment. His condition is not considered serious.

White is now the third person killed in the parish from vehicular accident since the start of the year, following the death of taxi operator, David Wynter, who was killed last week on the 19 Mile main road in May Pen, and a pedal cyclist who was hit from his bicycle along Howard Avenue, also in May Pen.
