The police are maintaining a strong presence in Dunkirk, east Kingston, after the recent shootings which left two persons, including a 17-month-old child dead, and two others injured.
THE STAR understands that the police detained and later released a number of persons who they believe were linked to the group which carried out the reprisal shooting in Dunkirk.
On Sunday afternoon, the National Security Minister, Peter Bunting, and Police Commissioner, Owen Ellington, took a walk-through the community.
About 10:15 p.m. on Friday, gunmen attacked a Valentine's Day party on Banana Street killing a man and the infant.
In a subsequent incident, armed thugs from Dunkirk invaded a house on Bryden Street and shot a couple.
It is believed the gunmen were seeking to kill the couple's baby in revenge for the slaying of the other infant.
Investigations continue.
