Jamaican transvestite indicted in 4-y-o's death

United States prosecutors have indicted a Jamaica-born transvestite in the death of a four-year-old boy in care.

Twenty-seven-year-old Kryzie King, who was reportedly named Christopher at birth, was indicted in the Manhattan Supreme Court on 12 charges, including first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

King pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He had been given temporary custody of four-year-old Myls Dobson, by his father who was serving a jail term at the time. Dobson died on January 8.

Justice Robert Stolz has ordered that King be held without bail as prosecutors say they expect to bring a murder charge soon. Prosecutors said they were awaiting the final autopsy results on the toddler.

King's lawyer, Bryan Konoski, has asked the court for a psychiatric examination of his client.
