Jamaican chef arrested in Barbados for cannabis


A Jamaican chef, who has been labelled a 'swallower', was arrested and charged in Barbados last week shortly after his arrival in the Caribbean country, THE STAR understands.


According to http://ift.tt/11zmKK8, members of the Drug Squad arrested and charged 41-year-old Martell Antonio Stewart.


He was charged with possession of one pound of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation. THE STAR gathered that Stewart arrived in Barbados from Jamaica by air on February 5.


Reports are that he was interviewed by the police after he cleared immigration.


According to investigators, Stewart was referred to a medical facility where he passed out 32 packages containing one pound of cannabis, which he had digested.


Stewart is to appear at the District B Magistrate Court later this week.
