JP to be sentenced for false declaration

A Justice of the Peace who made a false declaration stating that he knew a woman and by extension causing the Supreme Court to be mislead, will be sentenced on March 25.

He is Christopher Livermore, charged with making a false declaration.

When the matter was called up Friday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court, Livermore pleaded guilty to the offence.

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey reminded Livermore that his actions were very serious.

The court heard that Livermore, in his position as a Justice of the Peace, signed that he knew a woman to be who she claimed to be, which proved otherwise.

A fingerprint order was also made against Livermore.

A social enquiry report was requested to determine the sentence to be handed down.
