Reports of 'Fifty Cent' hanging himself unconfirmed

Up to press time last night, the police were yet to confirm if a man said to be responsible for the death of a 15-year-old had taken his life.


The information that the man, who goes by the name 'Fifty Cent', hanged himself in a rural district in St Catherine was not confirmed by the police.

Fifty Cent is the man who is being accused of sexually assaulting and killing St Catherine High School student, Rachel Robinson, of 75 St John's Road in Spanish Town.


The child's partially nude body was found in the house where the suspect often visits.


As the news continue to spread across the island, persons have expressed shock and anger about the untimely death of the teenager.

Among those who were mourning are Susan McCalla, the mother of Robinson. The grief stricken McCalla said that she was at work when she received the sad news of her child's death. "Is the other day mi tell Fifty Cent to leave Rachel alone and him said yes, and me really frighten fi know seh him kill the first pickney," McCalla said.


She said that she works very hard to take care of her children and although she now realises her child is dead, she still doesn't believe that she is really gone.


Investigations continue.
