Hanover police probe fatal shooting

WESTERN BUREAU:

Up to late yesterday, the Sandy Bay police in Hanover had still not made any arrest in connection with Saturday's shooting of two men in the community.

Dead are 40-year-old Sidney 'Show' Cambridge from Thompson Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine, and 27-year-old Radrick Murray, otherwise called 'Popcaan', of Cho-cho Lane in Hopewell, Hanover.

Reports from the police Corporate Communication Unit (CCU) are that approximately 2 a.m., a team of police officers was on patrol in the vicinity of the Sandy Bay square when explosions were heard.

The police responded and on reaching the square, Cambridge and Murray were found suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to hospital where they died while being treated. A brown Honda motorcar, belonging to Murray, was also reportedly stolen following the shooting.

Police told THE STAR they are following certain leads into the killings and are hoping to make a breakthrough soon.
