There was much commotion on the steps of a commercial bank in St Andrew on Monday morning, as a large woman stripped herself naked, allegedly over a dispute she had with her male companion over funds to be deposited in the bank.

The incident, which happened shortly before 10:00 a.m., resulted in the gathering of a large crowd and a minor traffic build-up.

It is being alleged that the woman and her male companion went to the bank to do business; however,

a disagreement over money and how much should be deposited ensued, causing her to strip naked in defiance.

"The man wanted to bank some of the money, but she had other ideas for what the money should be used for ... . She got vex and start strip ... . The man tried to tell her to put on her clothes, but she refused, so he threw money on her and left the scene," said an eyewitness.

Other onlookers said it took the police just under an hour to restrain the woman after she took off her clothes, lying sprawled on the steps to the bank.

"Everybody ina di crowd say a must 35 ago play ina cash pot today (yesterday), because di whole a har private out a door ... mi couldn't believe mi eyes ... mi did a wonder if her head gone," said an onlooker, who found amusement in the matter.

The woman was also later observed fighting with the police in the backseat of one patrol car. A policeman narrowly escaped being bitten by her.

It is unclear if she was of unsound mind.

She was reportedly taken to the Kingston Public Hospital.

Though the incident occurred squarely in Half-Way Tree, the Police were not aware of the incident.
