Cops probe if producer carried out threat to disrupt event

The police are now investigating an entertainment personality who posted what appears to have been a threat to the promoters of Sting 2014 before the event.

A picture that was posted on social media a few days before the show has pointed to what appears to have been a planned attempt at sabotaging the event.

The picture being looked at by the police show a gun and plans to attend the event to cause problems.

Police sources claim that they are now probing the possibilities that the individual was also responsible for shots fired at the venue during an incident.

After several hours of performances at the event things took a turn after an incident backstage when shots were fired.

It was previously reported that the incident was associated with the entourages of two entertainers.

However, the police now claim that they have evidence that the melee which led to plastic bottles being hurled towards the stage was instigated by the individual after he fired shots.

When THE STAR spoke to the organisers of the event last night, a representative said that they were not willing to comment as the investigations were ongoing.

"We are aware of the investigation, but we are not able to make a comment until it is complete," the representative stated.
