Student's proposal surfaces on social media

A picture of a male student seemingly proposing to a female student from a Corporate Area all-girls high school has surfaced on the social media website, Facebook.

It is unclear if the proposal of the male student was done in jest or was a serious undertaking.

In the three-grid photo, the male student, whose school is unknown, is on bended knee with ring in hand, while the female student appears to be reacting to his proposal.

In another photo, the 'couple' appears to be examining the ring, while in another photo which appears to be in a popular restaurant, the ring is the subject of highlight.

Persons commenting on the photos have expressed elation at the proposal.

"Yes bro, y'all famous now," an individual commented. "Awww," said another.

When the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre was contacted, a representative said she was not aware of this specific incident, however, our news team was told that the incident was likely to have happened.

A policeman at the centre also said he was not aware of this specific incident. By law, the legal age of marriage is 16 with parental consent, and 18 without.

"I do not believe this is serious or the law would have to act. If you come here [Transport Centre], you'd be surprise to see what happens."
