Three killed in two-vehicle collision

Detectives attached to the Westmoreland Police Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision which claimed the lives of three persons on Farm Road, Westmoreland, yesterday.

Dead are 48-year-old Pisley Ennis, higgler of May Pen, Clarendon; 47-year-old Paulette Watt of Georges Plain and Neville Campbell, higgler of Gallery district both of Westmoreland.

Reports from the Whitehouse police are that about 7:15 a.m., all three were passengers in a Toyota Hiace minibus travelling from Savanna-la-Mar to Kingston. On reaching a section of the roadway, the driver of the minibus allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided with a truck travelling in the same direction.

All passengers aboard the minibus received multiple injuries and were taken to hospital where Ennis, Watt and Campbell died while being treated. The other 17 passengers, including the driver of the minibus, are said to be in serious but stable condition at hospital.
