Twenty-two-year-old Keron Lee who pleaded guilty to the theft of 12 gallons of diesel fuel from a Digicel cell site was yesterday remanded until January 20 when he will be sentenced.

When Lee appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court, he told the court he could explain his actions.

He told the court that previously he worked as a labourer, but recently there was no work so that was the reason he stole the fuel.

The court heard that on November 30, 2014, the accused went to a cell site at Pedro district near Brown's Hall.

A policeman, who was near the site observed Lee with a hose and a five gallon container removing diesel fuel from the plant's generator.

The Brown's Hall police were contacted and Lee was caught with fuel valued at $10,000.

Further investigations by constable Saint Barriffe resulted in Lee being charged with simple larcency.
