Teen fined $5,000 for assault

A teenager who slammed a complainant's head in a wall because he thought he was too disrespectful, was fined $5,000 or six months imprisonment yesterday in the Corporate Area resident's Magistrate's Court.

Charged with assault is 18-year-old Romario Williams.

He pleaded guilty to the offence.

The court was told that on the day in question, Williams attacked the complainant and pushed his head into a cement wall because he was being disrespectful to an adult.

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey said to Williams, "So you are the enforcer?"

He was then ordered to give his fingerprints to the police.
