MASKED MEN HELD IN ATM WITH 36 CARDS

André Williams, STAR Writer

Two men were arrested and charged by the police in St Mary recently after they were held inside an ATM wearing masks, while being in possession of 36 ATM cards and a substantial amount of cash.

They are 31-year-old Shavion Davis and 29-year-old Levar Henry.

Information reaching THE STAR is that on Thursday, April 24, police personnel observed both men wearing masks inside an ATM in the wee hours of the night.

THE STAR gathered that the police became suspicious and went to check out what was taking place.

According to police reports, upon reaching the ATM machine, with the men still locked inside, a search was ordered and 36 ATM cards were found with pin numbers allegedly written on them. The police said they also took $259,000 in cash from the accused men.

Our news team was told that most of the cards seized were from Scotiabank and Royal Bank of the Caribbean (RBC), and that when both were asked to account for the cards, they refused to say how they came by them.

An officer close to the investigation told THE STAR that one of the accused men committed the offence while on bail.

Our news team was also told that none of the men held reside in the parish.

Both are to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on June 17.
