A woman accused of harbouring two fugitives was remanded when she appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Charged with two counts of harbouring a fugitive is Sandy Yap.

The Crown alleged that the accused woman found at a home in the company of two men who are believed to be fugitives by police.

She was subsequently arrested and charged.

"I don't think she should be offered bail because her association with criminals is very strong," Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey said.

Yap, in her defence, explained that one of the men in question is her common-law husband, and she was kept at the premises under duress.

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered Yap remanded until April 22, pending trial.
