Cops seek help to identify hit-and-run driver


The Sandy Bay police in Hanover are appealing to residents of Round Hill, Hopewell, in the parish or anyone who may have witnessed a hit-and-run incident in the community last Saturday to come forward and tell what they know.


Reports are that about 10:40 p.m., a man, whose identity has not yet been ascertained, was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by a motor car; the driver did not stop. Subsequently, several other cars allegedly ran over the body.


Persons with information may contact the Sandy Bay police at 953-5312, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station. Persons may also give information via the Stay Alert app, which can be downloaded free from the Google Play store.


In addition, anyone who may be able to assist investigators to identify the body, which is believed to be in the late 50s, is of dark complexion and is about 172 centimetres (5 feet 8 inches) long, is also being encouraged to contact the lawmen.
