Still no arrest in Frome double killing

Up to late yesterday, the Frome police in Westmoreland say they are yet to make an arrest in the gruesome murder of two men in the parish on Saturday


The men have been identified as 24-year-old Oshane Miller, and Anthony Nugent, 45, both labourers of Prospect, Westmoreland address.


Detectives from the Frome Police Station report that on February 7, about 10:30 p.m., Miller, Nugent, and another man were walking along a footpath in a cane field in Bahram district, Frome, Westmoreland, when they were pounced upon by a group of men, two of whom were armed with guns. The gunmen reportedly opened fire at the group hitting them. One of the men reportedly escaped, later making an alarm. The police were summoned to the scene, and the bodies of Miller and Nugent were discovered.


It is believed that upon arrival, police personnel observed Nugent's body, which was reportedly set ablaze. The scene was subsequently processed and the bodies removed to the morgue.


It is believed that the body was set ablaze by the attackers.


The third man was reportedly hospitalised.


When contacted yesterday, the police were unable to give a motive for the attack, but said they were still searching for suspects.
