A St Catherine man is to sentenced in the St Catherine Circuit Court next month after he was found guilty of seven counts of rape on Thursday.

The jury retired for one hour and returned a unanimous guilty verdict.

He was then ordered remanded by Justice Vivienne Harris until March 6 when he is to be sentenced.

It is revealed that the complainant, now 10 years old, was being sexually molested by the accused since she was seven years old.

He is said to have had a relationship with complainant's mother.

An observation was made of the child's strange behaviour, and following enquiries, it was revealed that the accused constantly molested her.
