Cuban national killed in Seaview Gardens

The St Andrew South police said they have not received any reports that an alleged love triangle led to the death of a Cuban national, who was murdered on Monday morning in the community of Seaview Gardens.

Superintendent Lenox Harper told THE STAR that so far his investigation has not unearthed such information surrounding the death of 49-year-old contractor Nedy 'Alexis' Acosta.

"No, not at this point, and I don't want to go along the lines of speculation", said Harper when quizzed by our news team.

According to some residents, Acosta may have been killed because he was part of a lover's triangle.

THE STAR received reports that Acosta was in the community overseeing work that involves laying pipelines.

Loud explosions

Reports from the Seaview Gardens police are that Acosta, who is of a Greater Portmore, St Catherine, address, was killed about 8:39 a.m. while sitting in his motor car in Seaview Gardens.

The police said Acosta was pounced upon by unknown assailants who shot him several times.

He was found slumped over the steering wheel when the police arrived on the scene after being summoned by residents who reportedly heard loud explosions.

Yesterday, the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed the reports.

THE STAR also gathered that it does not appear that Acosta was robbed during the attack.

Superintendent Harper told THE STAR that the investigation into this matter is inconclusive and his team is working in conjunction with the Major Investigation Task Force.
