Ganja seized in St Mary


Detectives attached to the Area 2 Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division seized a quantity of ganja during an operation in Dry River district, Iter Boreale, St. Mary, on Sunday.


Information received is that about 3:00 p.m., a premises was searched and 18 bags, along with two buckets containing 70 parcels of ganja, were found in a shed. The ganja weighs approximately 800 pounds (363.6 kilograms). A further search of the premises resulted in the seizure of one fishing boat with a Yamaha engine attached.


The ganja has an estimated street value of $4 million.


No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.


Investigations continue.
