Witness tells cops accused allegedly hired him to kill brother
A woman, who allegedly paid a hitman to kill her older brother over a piece of land, had her request for bail denied when she appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Charged with conspiracy to murder is 33-year-old Alicia Rose of a Kingston 11 address.
The long-standing family dispute almost turned deadly after Rose allegedly paid a hitman $20,000 to kill her 38-year-old brother.
Fighting
According to reports, the siblings have been fighting for years over the property, and she allegedly made an agreement with a hitman to get her brother killed. She agreed to pay a sum of $60,000 for the job, to which she made a deposit of $20,000 to the hitman.
The hitman, however, did not carry out the task and made a report to the police.
Rose was remanded into custody and is to reappear in court on July 4.
