The St Ann police have laid formal murder charges against a man who was held in connection with the death of two men more than a week ago.

He is 31-year-old Mastino Davis, unemployed, of Pimento Walk district, St Ann.

He is charged with the double murder of Robert Blake, 38-year-old businessman, and Orane Hamilton, 31-year-old, of Steer Town, St Ann.

THE STAR was informed that after a question and answer session, Davis was yesterday charged.

It is alleged that on June 1, 2014 at 1 p.m., the men were in a Toyota motor vehicle van making deliveries in Pimento Walk, near Ocho Rios, when a group of men with guns attacked the vehicle and fired shots.

Blake, who was the driver, lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

Both Blake and Hamilton died from gunshot wounds.

An investigation was launched which resulted in Davis being apprehended and charged by Detective Sergeant Kirk Nichols of the Ocho Rios Criminal Investigation Branch.
