The case against two St James men, who reportedly stabbed another man to death at a party in Lilliput district earlier this year, was deferred to September 4, when they appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
Robert Morgan, 25, of a Roehampton address, and 27-year-old Leroy Service, of a Lilliput address, were charged with murder following the stabbing death of Adrian Brown on February 4.
When they appeared in court before Resident Magistrate Carolyn Tie, their bails were extended until their scheduled September court appearance.
The allegations are that, at approximately 12:10 a.m. on the night of the incident, the men were attending a party in Lilliput, when an argument developed among them. The dispute escalated into a fight. During the fight, knives were drawn and Brown was stabbed several times. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
Morgan and Service were subsequently arrested and charged.
"Is the file ready?" RM Tie asked clerk of the Court Shelly-Ann Greaves, when the case was called up.
"No, your Honour, we are waiting on the forensic certificate, and they (investigators) are indicating a late August date (for completion)," Greaves replied.
RM Tie subsequently extended Morgan's and Service's bails to September 4, when the case will again be mentioned.
