A psychiatric evaluation has been ordered in a matter before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court in which a man allegedly injured his mother during a dispute.
Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Dwayne Bashford.

The court heard that on the day of the incident, Bashford and his brother were involved in a dispute. When Bashford's mother intervened she was allegedly kicked.
Senior Resident Magistrate (RM) Judith Pusey asked Bashford's mother when was the last time he had been to a doctor. She responded two years ago.
The RM then enquired of the accused why he was not taking his medication, however his response was not satisfactory and the RM ordered him remanded to undergo pyschiatric evaluation.
He is to return to court on June 27.
