The St Catherine woman accused of using a dead person's identity to bail someone was remanded in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
When Sidoney Thomas, 54, a labourer from Eltham View, Spanish Town, reappeared in court, the investigating officer said having made checks with the Registrar General's Department (RGD) he was unable to ascertain the true identity of the accused woman.
Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green then ruled that she be remanded until April 16.
Thomas' attorney, Earl Hamilton, told the court that he will be seeking further instructions to assist with his client's true identity for her to get bail.

Allegations are that in June of last year, the accused woman went to a justice of the peace purporting to be Monica Pitt, who died several years ago. It is also alleged that she tendered a registered title in the deceased woman's name but bearing her photograph along with her national identification.
The court heard that this was to secure bail for a man who was charged with having sex with a person under the age of 16. The man, however, failed to turn up after being granted $150,000 bail.
Thomas and the accused man were subsequently arrested.
It is reported that when personnel went to the address they spoke to a relative of the deceased who confirmed that it was the name of their mother who died two years prior.
