A St Andrew man who was being sought by the police had to abort his wedding recently at a popular bridal centre in Kingston in an effort to elude the lawmen.
Guests had already arrived at the well-decorated venue when the groom was said to have called the operators to tell them that the wedding was called off.
The man, who was since arrested, was being sought by the police for fraud after it was alleged that he operated a fake employment agency.

It is strongly believed that the man had to cancel his wedding plans because he became aware of the cops' effort to capture him.
THE STAR got hold of one of the wedding invitations which was adorned with regal-looking colours, bearing the man's face and that of his wife to be.
A section of the invitation proclaimed the man's devotion to his intended bride and the marital bliss they were expecting to share in the not-too-distant future.
A handful of females, claiming to have fallen prey to the agency when they were asked to pay money in order to obtain uniforms, IDs, company cell phones and training, turned up at the man's wedding in order to reclaim their money. However, they were left disappointed after it was cancelled.

It is further alleged that the man also duped the wedding planners. "The initial payment that was made was refused by the bank (the cheque was not valid). A subsequent payment of a smaller amount was made but it was partially legitimate. It was far less than what was required," a highly placed source explained.
In the meantime, Head of the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID), Senior Superintendent Clifford Chambers, said the man also has another matter before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court relating to an employment scam. The man was held in a police sting operation.
