A mother and her 13-year-old daughter have been hospitalised after they were both raped at their home in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Wednesday morning.

Disturbingly, our news team understands that some of the hoodlums raped the mother in front of her common-law spouse and told him to watch, while the others turned on the teenage girl.

It was also reported that the culprits didn't leave empty-handed, as they stole several items from the house and also broke into a neighbouring premises.

Head of The Centre For The Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), Deputy Superintendent Veronica Gilzeans, confirmed that the incident is being investigated.

"No arrests have been made so far, the Spanish Town CISOCA branch is investigating the matter," Gilzeans said.

When quizzed about the stolen items, Gilzeans said that she was unable to provide the details at the time that she was contacted.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that counselling has been provided for all of the persons who have been affected by the incident.
