Multiple charges for wholesale operator

A wholesale operator was taken before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday to answer to multiple charges stemming from a search conducted by the police recently.

Charged with storing drugs for sale, not being a registered pharmacist on premises not registered as a pharmacy, unauthorised use of trademark, and possession of prohibited and uncustomed goods is Meiyuan Chen.

He pleaded guilty to all the charges and offered the court an explanation.


There was a translator on hand for Chen, who is of Chinese decent.


The court was told that Chen was also in possession of bleaching cream.


Chen, however, told the court that he had permission from Customs to sell the bleaching cream.


Chen had his bail extended and is to return to court on March 28 for sentencing.
