Police charged with largeny gets bail


A policeman who was hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday for stealing a motor vehicle was granted bail in the sum of $300,000.00 with surety.


Charged with larceny of a motor vehicle is Ramone Walker.


He pleaded not guilty to the offence through his attorney, Christopher Townsend.


The court was told that a file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), who ruled that the officer be charged.


He was being held in custody at the DPP's office.


On condition of his bail, Walker is to give his fingerprints to the police and surrender all travel documents.


A stop order has been placed at all ports.


Walker is to return to court on October 6.
