No evidence was offered against a man and a pregnant woman accused of assaulting another woman, who is also pregnant, when they appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is a 33-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both of Marverly, Kingston 20.
Allegations are that on June 21, approximately 5:30 p.m., the complainant was at home eating crab when some water was spilt on the floor. It is said that the complainant went for a mop to wipe up the water.
The allegations before the court is that she was attacked by the accused woman who poured scalding hot cup soup on her chest causing burns to her breasts. It is alleged that the man then intervened, during which he flung stones hitting the pregnant complainant on her left hand causing swelling and pain.

Laughter filled the air during the proceeding following the question of whether or not the accused male in the matter was responsible for the pregnancy of both women. After sharing a hearty chuckle, all parties involved responded no to the claim.
Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey asked the complainant how she would prefer to have the matter resolved.
"Me want back mi money mi spend a the doctor," she said.
The court heard that the complainant had spent $3000 in medical expenses.
Subsequently, the sum was collected and handed over.
"All right, you may go, and unu stop the foolishness!" RM Pusey concluded.
