Challenge Accepted!

CB pan Chicken eliminations today

Accepting the minister of agriculture's challenge to expand and share the unique experience of the CB Pan Chicken Championship with other parishes, CB uprooted its Eastern Regional Elimination from Kingston and in 2013 found a new home in Portmore at the UDC Car Park.

By popular demand, this Saturday's event will again be at the UDC Car Park in the Sunshine City, but with a bit of a twist.

"Portmore was awesome last year. We loved the venue, and the people had a great vibe. But Portmore is a dormitory community. Most people run errands and work outside of the city. Though many people passed by and patronised the booths earlier in the day, it wasn't until late in the afternoon that the crowd really came out," said Alicia Bogues, CB Chicken and Bad Dawg Sausages Brand Manager.

She further stated that because of what they noticed with the crowd last year, "It was a no-brainer. We decided to start at noon and end at 8 p.m., which will ensure patrons enjoy all the CB Pan Chicken Championship has to offer,"

The Eastern elimination, one of three regional competitions, caters to pan-chicken men and women in St Catherine, Kingston & St Andrew, St Mary, Portland, and St Thomas, with 10 contestants (a winner and runner up from each parish) advancing to the final.

Traditionally, regional competitions have been full-day events, beginning at 10 a.m., offering attendees fun activities, delicious food and live entertainment for the entire family. Bogues said come Saturday, the event will be no different, and persons can expect the same stellar production everyone has grown to love.

There will also be a concert featuring I-Octane, who recently completed a European tour; veteran gospel minister Lubert Levy; and Krushal, the winner of the 2014 Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall competition.
