Cop in custody for allegedly killing brother-in-law


A policeman, up to news time last night, was still in custody for allegedly killing his brother-in-law during a domestic dispute last Saturday.


The unidentified cop was held in Westmoreland after he reportedly shot and killed 41-year-old farmer, Christopher Thompson.


According to police reports, Thompson was told that the accused had hit his daughter.


Residents said an argument developed during which the policeman shot Thompson several times.


THE STAR gathered that he was rushed to the hospital where he died undergoing treatment.


The cop was subsequently taken into custody.


Our news team also understands that the matter is being probed by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
