Woman remanded for stealing wedding ring

A woman who has been accused of stealing a wedding ring and selling it in the 'Cash for Gold' trade was remanded when she appeared in court on October 14.


Charged with simple larceny is Alician Notice, of Spanish Town, St Catherine.


When Notice appeared in court she had persons laughing about her explanation.


"Your Honor is di five-year-old baby give mi di ring," Notice said.


Allegations are that on September 3, the accused went to a relative's home. It is being alleged that the ring was stolen and taken to Half-Way Tree where it was sold for $10,000.


An investigation was launched which resulted in Notice been charged with simple larceny.


She is scheduled to reappear in court on October 30 when the matter will again be mentioned.
