Two remanded in triple murder released

Two of the three men who were previously taken into custody in relation to last week's triple murder in the east Kingston community of Rockfort have been released.

They are Paul Waite, otherwise known as 'Pappy', and a man known only by his alias 'Jah Bouki'. The third man known only as 'Monkey Man remains in custody.

According to Deputy Superintendent Hornet Williams, who is attached to the East Kingston Police Division, the men were released because the police had nothing to hold them on.

"We are not getting anything substantial from the citizens, we do not have a choice, we have to release them. There is nothing we can do," Williams said.

Top police investigators had met yesterday to discuss the fate of the three men taken into custody and as a result of insufficient information to hold them, two were released.

It was reported that last Wednesday patrons were at a bar along St John's Road in the community after 7 p.m. when a group of gunmen pounced on them and opened fire indiscriminately.

Eight persons were shot in the attack, which left three dead.
