Hubby beats wife for not sharing bed


A man who is accused of using a chair to hit his wife because she refused to sleep in the same bed with him, will know his fate when he returns to court in December.


Pleading guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm is 55-year-old Michael Dover of a Kingston 11 address.


According to reports, on October 2 around 7 p.m., an argument developed between Dover and his 38-year-old wife concerning the bed they shared.


According to the complainant, "I decided not to sleep on the same bed as him and he became angry and used a chair to hit me."


The complainant received injuries to her head, right elbow and left wrist which resulted in swelling and bruises.


Resident Magistrate Lorna Williams asked the complainant if this was the first time her husband had hit her, to which she responded, "No, him always hit me."


Dover however denied hitting his wife prior to this incident.


He is to return to court for sentencing on December 2.
