Children survive shooting

The Kingston Central police say two of the three children who were shot in downtown Kingston yesterday have been released from hospital. The police say the third child, a seven-year-old girl, is still undergoing treatment at the Bustamante Hospital for Children.

However, Superintendent Michael Scott, who heads the Kingston Central police, says none of the injuries sustained by the children are considered serious.

According to Scott, the three have injuries to the hand, shoulder and foot. It is reported that the three were shot shortly after 7 o'clock last night when a lone gunman opened fire on a 15-year-old girl at the corner of Church and North streets.

Scott says the police are following strong leads and expect to wrap up their investigations soon.
