Woman on unlawful possession rap offered bail

A woman who was found with a large quantity of computer devices was offered bail when she appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Charged with unlawful possession of property is 34-year-old Nichola Harris of a Kingston 10 address.


According to reports on October 10 at around 12:30 p.m., the police armed with a search warrant went to the home of the accused after she was held in a sting operation with a stolen laptop.


Her home was searched and a quantity of laptops, tablets, external drives, ipads, laptop cases, laptop chargers and tablet cases, were found.


According to the police, the accused was allegedly unable to account for the items.


Her attorney told the court however, that Harris could give an account for the items as she operates a business.


"It's a business she's involved in, where she refurbishes and sells the items. She also has a website where she trades and sells them," he explained.


Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey offered Harris bail in the sum of $150,000 and she is to return to court on October 31.
