Two accused of attacking warden denied bail


Two men who are accused of attacking and injuring a warden at the New Horizon Remand Centre pleaded not guilty in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.


Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm are Rohan Masters and Rashane Hamilton. Both men have been remanded in custody until December 1.


The Crown is alleging that on March 14, the complainant, a warden, was on duty at the remand centre when he was attacked by the two inmates. He was then punched all over his body by both men.


The matter was subsequently set for mention on December 1, as the medical certificate in the case remains outstanding.
