Female hookers chased away by gays

THE STAR has learnt that the female prostitutes who normally solicit sex in the New Kingston area have been forced to relocate to the Half-Way Tree and Cross Roads area after allegedly being chased away by gay male prostitutes.

Recently, THE STAR toured the New Kingston area and noticed that at the time of our visit no females were present.

However, men clad in full female apparel could be seen strewn throughout the area, some in groups and others by themselves seeking potential clients.

After touring New Kingston, The STAR visited the Half-Way Tree and Cross Roads areas which are currently being used by some female prostitutes to solicit sex.

THE STAR attempted to question some of these women about the allegations of them being forced out the New Kingston area, but were told, "to reconsider our approach, because money talks."

THE STAR contacted Head of the New Kingston Police, Deputy Superintendent Christopher Murdock and he confirmed the allegations.

"Yes, I have noticed a reduction in the amount of female prostitutes in the area and this is because of the male prostitutes. They (the female prostitutes) have moved to Ripon Road and Norwood Road," he said.

A taxi operator who normally conducts business in the New Kingston area also told THE STAR that he and his colleagues have noticed a drastic reduction in the number of female prostitutes in the area.

"I see more male prostitutes in New Kingston. Them run the (female prostitutes) outta New Kingston and them tek over Grenada Crescent, Trafalgar Road, Tobago Avenue all over. It used to be a lot of females. Now it's a male dominated area," he said.
